No one can escape from death. It is inevitable. The fifth installment of Final Destination movie will once again terrify us with the no-nonsense horror and suspense that becomes the trademark of Final Destination movies. The FD movie series released its first installment way back in 2000 and 11 years later, it returns for the fifth and probably the best installment.

The Final Destination 5 (2011) is scheduled to a worldwide release on August 12, 2011. It will be released in Real D 3D and digital IMAX 3D. The movie stars Nicholas D’Agosto, Emma Bell, Miles Fisher, Arlen Escarpeta, David Koechner, and Tony Todd. Tony Todd is the only returning cast member from the previous Final Destination series.

Final Destination 5 was written by Eric Heisserer and directed by Steven Quale. It is filmed in Vancouver, where the first three films were shot. Producers have said that this installment will be darker and more suspenseful in style to the original film, rather than the almost comedic route of the fourth film.

Just like the previous Final Destination movies, the FD5 will be centered on the themes of determinism, predestination, and precognition, in relation to death. It features people who escape death, but then death chased them one by one dying in a series of elaborate, invariably fatal and often gory scenarios that frequently resemble Rube Goldberg machines in their complexity. The Final Destination 5, like other FD films are noteworthy amongst others in the horror genre in that the “villain” of the movies isn’t the stereotypical slashers, monsters, creatures, ghosts, demons, or humans. It is the entity Death itself (very occasionally ‘seen’ as a fleeting shadow), which manipulates the environment in deadly ways with the intent of “recapturing” those who somehow manage to escape their fates for the first time.

Final Destination 5 (2011) Synopsis:

Death is just as omnipresent as ever, and is unleashed after one man’s premonition saves a group of coworkers from a terrifying suspension bridge collapse. But this group of unsuspecting souls was never supposed to survive, and, in a terrifying race against time, the ill-fated group frantically tries to discover a way to escape Death’s sinister agenda.
